This support staff position is designed to strengthen and enhance pathways for senior students as they transition to further education, training, or employment.

This pivotal role involves working collaboratively with the Pathways Team, school staff, and external partners, to explore effective pathways for all rangatahi and support equitable outcomes, particularly for Māori and Pasifika learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build strong, learning-focused relationships with rangatahi, staff, whānau, and community partners.

     

  • Promote and strengthen partnerships with iwi, tertiary providers and local employers.

     

  • Support an inclusive environment where all students feel valued and empowered.

     

  • Communication with staff regarding ‘Future Pathway Programmes and Gateway opportunities

     

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience in career advising, educational support, or related roles.

     

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect effectively with young people.

     

  • A commitment to inclusive education and empowering students to achieve their goals.

     

  • A proactive, adaptable, and enthusiastic approach to supporting student success.

     

  • Excellent organisational and digital skills.

     

  • A full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence.

     

This position is for 30 hours per week, worked term time only, and commences onThursday 29 January 2026.

Remuneration:   This job is in Grade 5 of the Support Staff Collective Agreement.
