Early Childhood Education Teacher

Tauranga Girls’ College is a vibrant and inclusive school dedicated to empowering our learners to have a positive impact on the world. We are a place of discovery, and our dynamic Technology Learning Area is looking for an enthusiastic, qualified Early Childhood Education (ECE) teacher to join our collaborative team.

We are seeking a passionate educator to teach our Year 12 and Year 13 students in Level 2 and Level 3 Early Childhood Education. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about early childhood education, enjoys working with senior secondary students, and can bring current industry knowledge and real-world practice into the classroom with a creative and practical lens.

The successful applicant will deliver an engaging and future-focused programme that reflects current ECE industry standards and supports students to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed for further study, training and employment in the early childhood sector.

We are looking for someone who can inspire students, build positive relationships and create meaningful learning experiences that connect classroom learning with the realities of working in early childhood education. A strong understanding of child development, learning through play, professional practice, health and safety, and the responsibilities of working within an ECE setting will be valuable.

The successful applicant will:

  • Hold a relevant ECE qualification and have sound knowledge of current early childhood education practice and industry expectations.

  • Have the ability to deliver engaging Level 2 and Level 3 programmes for senior secondary students.

  • Be passionate about preparing students for further education, training and career pathways in the ECE sector.

  • Create an inclusive, supportive and practical learning environment that encourages students to participate, collaborate and develop confidence.

  • Build positive relationships with students and, where appropriate, support connections with ECE services and industry professionals.

  • Work collaboratively within our Technology Learning Area and contribute to a culture of innovation, creativity and shared practice.

We welcome applications from educators with strong ECE industry experience and a genuine enthusiasm for teaching and supporting young people as they explore future career pathways.

If you are an enthusiastic, collaborative and future-focused educator who wants to make a difference to our senior students, we would love to hear from you.
